TWO PAARL ICONS ONCE AGAIN IN THE GLOBAL SPOTLIGHT

Two of Paarl’s most iconic brands have received worldwide recognition once again. The definitive UK publication Drinks International has included both Nederburg Wine Estate and KWV in their 2019 listing of ‘The World’s Most Admired Wine Brands.’

According to Annelize Stroebel from the Paarl Wine Route, these accolades once again demonstrate the incredible quality of wines produced by South Africa’s second oldest wine route. “Paarl winemakers have become renowned for their incredible consistency and innovation and we can boast a proud winemaking heritage dating back centuries. We would like to congratulate both KWV and Nederburg on this impressive achievement, placing 45th and 47th respectively. Both these wine giants have been deeply rooted in the local winemaking history and have made significant contributions to the South African winemaking industry as a whole,” mentions Stroebel.

The highly-anticipated top 50 list acknowledges wine brands that show consistent or improving quality, reflect the region or country of origin, shows target audience responsiveness, excellent marketing and packaging and market appeal to a diverse demographic. The top fifty placement puts the South African duo in the company of illustrious wine brands such as Penfolds in Australia, Torres in Spain, Villa Maria in New Zealand, Concho Y Toro in Chile and M. Chapoutier in France.
